Founded in 2017, Music With Friends on the Bluff (MWFOTB) was created around a simple idea: great music has an extraordinary ability to bring people together.
Now in our ninth year, Music With Friends has grown into a uniquely intimate live-music experience at Palmetto Bluff-bringing exceptional artists and neighbors together for memorable evenings centered around music, friendship, community engagement, and charitable giving.
Our performances are intentionally different from traditional concerts. Music With Friends is designed as an intimate listening-lounge experience-always candlelit and table-seated, where the arts, the artists, and the audience come together in a highly engaged and personal way.
These are evenings built around listening. The room is tuned in. The artists have the opportunity to tell their stories, talk about their music, and connect directly with people sitting just a few feet away. The audience isn't simply watching a performance; they become part of the experience. That intimacy creates the kind of artist-to-audience connection that can easily get lost in a traditional concert setting.
Over the years, Music With Friends has presented an eclectic mix of nationally recognized artists, extraordinary touring musicians, emerging talent, and special performances spanning rock, soul, Americana, blues, country, and more. But the artist on stage is only part of what makes these evenings special.
Music With Friends is ultimately about community. It is about celebrating the arts and the artists, respecting the music, gathering friends and neighbors, creating shared experiences, and using the power of music to give back. Charitable giving has been part of our purpose since our very first year, with performances helping support organizations and causes making a difference throughout the Lowcountry.
We like to think of it less as attending a concert and more as being welcomed into a remarkable listening room with a few hundred friends-where the music is exceptional, the friendships are genuine, the artists and audience are truly connected, and every evening has the opportunity to do a little good along the way.
